House of Democracy
House of Democracy places Frankfurt’s Paulskirche at the symbolic and spatial center of a respectful architectural ensemble. New buildings frame the historic church while extending the existing urban fabric and creating spaces for civic exchange. Paulsplatz remains the central public “stage of democracy,” complemented by an accessible rooftop that offers new perspectives, supports public dialogue, and is shaped through participatory planning. Climate-resilient landscapes, biodiversity measures, and stronger connections between interior and exterior spaces reinforce the project’s ecological and democratic ambitions.
