Himmelsallee

The Himmelsallee project interweaves the urban fabric of Düsseldorf by expanding existing spatial perspectives: through a sprawling green living space, with punctuated vertical accents, and a linear elevated bike path, the entire city horizon is elevated and enriched. The project aims to transform the current negative perception of the noise barrier into a foundation for a sustainable future: Here, today’s urban ecosystems are rethought, and it is showcased how they could look tomorrow. The seamless bicycle axis along the noise barriers offers genuine added value for all Düsseldorf residents and tourists.

The concept improves the quality of life and the international reputation of the city. The new bike path connects infrastructure and communication, supporting a climate-neutral future. By promoting bicycle mobility, sustainable urban development is supported.

The green wall acts as an integrating element in the surrounding landscape, creating a new habitat for flora and fauna in the city. The towers rise as symbols of a new era of sustainability and a testament to the power of coexistence. They connect nature and the city into a unique living space.
